The sound design for Ghosts was inspired heavily by the weather, and in particular the rain and the fog, as a driving narrative force in the characters’ lives and actions. The ambient compositions are a reinterpretation of the public domain works of Norwegian composer Ole Bull, who lived during the same period as the time of the play, and whose life had some uncanny similarities to the omnipresent captain in the piece.
